Holy shit thought i’d long ago abandoned pretensions sensations, declarations and aspirations for film Cape Fear 1962, you fucking with me? haven’t been so on the edge of my seat or with both fists clenched for longer than i can remember what happened to the use of shadow in film? look at those shots Robert Mitchum and Gregory Peck in the same film? the score? i’m only breathing between a double feature now we go Scorsese (De Niro of course) and 1991 i’ve seen both before but long enough ago that they are both born again Jee-Sus what a resurrection e-rection finally a day i’m able to watch a whole film or two it’s been a long, long time
Did you ever see Robert Mitchum in "Night of the Hunter," it's the only film Charles Laughton ever directed and it's like an eerie black and white tone poem.
Mitchum keep singing this song, "Leaning on the Everlasting Arms," as he rides his horse and frogs croak on lily pads. It's impossibly beautiful and eerie.
Seen them both but a long time ago. Both versions left me feeling totally chilled and shaken. Will have to watch them again!
Definitely creepy no doubt...and then De Niro's Max Cady finally goes down but not before spewing demonic tongues. Not no Spielberg either one
Envious. I haven't sat down to watch a movie in one sitting in a very long time it seems. Cape Fear's a classic. Definitely worth a rewatch.
Yeah, man. Conveniences I used to enjoy in youth, now not so easily come by
I love the original "Cape Fear" wth Mitchum, Peck, Polly Bergan and Patty Duke. What a cast and the use of black and white was perfect.
Yes. Great movie

Yes. Great and creepy film. One I'll watch again for sure.

Yes, I remember. Wasn't too long ago I saw it for the first time. Two years maybe. Really great. Be fun to see it at an old movie theater
